What is the compensation package?

First things first: make sure you know exactly what you will be receiving by taking on a travel position. Inquire about bonuses, travel reimbursements, health insurance, company retirement plans, and any other perks that come with the position.

What will my schedule and hours be like?

Ensure you are comfortable with the type of schedule the travel position requires, as well as the number of hours. Ask your recruiter what the typical workload is like for this position, and how steady the schedule tends to be - will it be shift work, regular eight hour days throughout the week, or require being on call? You want to be clear on your schedule and hours so you know what you're getting into with the position.

Discuss with your recruiter what type of housing package will be included with the travel assignment compensation. Ask about not just the lodging itself, but how close it is to your assignment work location and the length of the commute.
