Heading to Baltimore for your next assignment?
Last month, our team put together a list of four can’t miss sightseeing activities in Baltimore, Maryland. While that list is certainly a good starting point, if you’re traveling to Baltimore for your next travel therapy assignment, you know that along with the work you’ll be doing and the views you’ll be checking out there is one very important elements to traveling to a new destination – the food.
So, if your next travel assignment is in Baltimore, be sure to stop by these establishments that are outstide of your standard chain restaurants.
Points South Latin Kitchen
Looking for something different?
Take a trip to Points South Latin Kitchen, located in Fells Point, for delicious South American food.
While this might be geared towards the more adventurous traveler, the menu includes grilled octopus, shrimp ceviche, huevos rancheros and ‘ropa vieja’– a slow-cooked beef dish.
Sunday brunch is also a popular option, with a wide range Latin cuisine you’ll also have the opportunity to enjoy some homemade sangrias.
Mothers Federal Hill Grill
Up on Federal Hill, check out Mother's Federal Hill Grill (or hit up one of two other locations, including one in Timonium.)
Quoted as “a place you can feel home” the menu offers standard yet tasty pub food (burgers and wings), though visitors can also try Mom's spicy meatloaf, a black and blue ribeye and cajun chicken pot pie, along with jambalaya and other Bayou specialties.
Ida B's Table
This is a place that's getting a lot of attention lately. With 113 reviews and a 4 star rating on Yelp, Ida B's is billed as soul food and known for delicacies like deviled eggs, pork belly, dressed up brussels sprouts, pickled vegetables and octopus sliders.
Diners who have checked out this new eatery like the easy access from downtown, the welcoming ambience and the professional service.
If you’re down Dundalk way, stop in and check out the restaurant that got some attention from Guy Fieri on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Burgers, Mediterranean fare, all-day breakfast – it’s all on the menu.
Looking for a nice dinner over a weekend that’s near the water?
Try the Boathouse for a dining experience you’ll love. With an extensive menu of seafood, steak, soups and burgers, there is certainly food available for travelers with any dinner preference.
Flying Dog Brewery
If you're able to venture out to nearby Frederick, Maryland, Flying Dog Brewery makes for a nice addition to your trip.
While Flying Dog does not have a kitchen, The Roasthouse Pub food truck parks outside and has fried mac and cheese bites waiting for you.
With a range of seasonal and year-round beers on tap, Flying Dog is a great stop on a Saturday afternoon for the craft-beer enthusiast looking to sample a flight of local brews.
